Frequently Asked Questions

Our property is in Ecclesfield village, Sheffield, close to a lovely park and lots of open countryside.

The best way to get in touch with us is by email or you can send us a message on Facebook. We can continue the conversation there or we're happy to share our phone number for you to call or text us.

As far ahead as possible, we are often fully booked up to 6 months in advance. We expect to get very busy at times and hate to disappoint. We are very happy to accommodate last minute bookings if at all possible.

Yes, we will need a copy of your vaccination card. Your dog must also be wormed and treated for fleas.

The simple answer is no. We provide a home from home environment; suitable for friendly, sociable family dogs. We have our own two dogs: Paddy (a 1 year old Golden Doodle) and Dottie (a 10 year old cockapoo) so we cannot take any dog which exhibits aggressive tendencies or is not socialised.

Because of this and to ensure your dog(s) are happy with us we insist on a Meet and Greet visit before fully accepting your booking. This also gives you an opportunity to ask questions and look around the property where your pooch will be staying.

No. Whether you take out veterinary insurance is your own decision. Some owners like to have their pets insured & leave their policy details with us, others prefer to pay for veterinary expenses if required.

If we believe veterinary treatment is necessary we will take your dog directly to your own vet, in preference, otherwise to our own local vet. Any costs incurred will be payable by you on your return. We will contact you on your emergency number and discuss what has happened, and keep you updated on your pet's progress (unless you tell us not to disturb you).

Having owned dogs for many years we are fully aware of the additional needs of older dogs, and those with medical needs. Our beloved Westie, Mac (sadly no longer with us) had medication for most of his long life for skin problems. As he got older he succumbed to diabetes and then went blind so administering Caninsulin injections twice a day was no problem. We will store all medication/tablets safely and ensure they are taken as per your vets instructions.

You will need to provide your dog's food so he/she stays on the same diet. If your dog has fresh food as part of their diet you will need to provide this cooked and frozen. If your dog is on medication you will need to provide this, along with instructions of how to administer the medication.

We advise you also bring: Any favourite treats or toys, your dog's bed, something that smells of home to help them settle, lead, harness, food bowls, and grooming brushes if required.

By default, we won't exercise any dogs off lead. You will be required to state in writing if you do wish for your dog to be exercised off lead.

There is a wonderful secure doggie paddock nearby where we could allow your dog to play off-lead, however this incurs an additional cost which we would ask you to be responsible for. All our guests are supplied with dog tags with our telephone number on them during their stay. We have additional enrichment activities for our guests too as not all dogs want long walks (especially if we have hot weather) to keep them happy and stimulated.

If you cancel your booking within 14 days of the start of boarding the deposit paid is non-refundable. If cancelled within 15-30 days prior to boarding then 50% of the deposit paid will be refunded. If more than 30 days notice is given, the deposit will be fully refundable.

The 'deposit' is half of the full amount payable for the entire duration your dog's stay.
